Rethinking Medicine is a collaborative initiative aiming to improve how medicine supports better health and healthcare in England.
It is about:
re-examining the relationship between medical science, medical practice, and the people they serve
removing the barriers that prevent people and communities from taking control of their health
reducing the risk and waste associated with inappropriate medical interventions
supporting medical professionals to increase the positive impact of medicine on health and wellbeing
exploring the practical implications of a rethought model of medicine, for example on training and clinical governance.
It seeks to solve the problem of the inappropriate use of the biomedical model in England as a universal solution to address many of the multiple and complex challenges that our population faces.
